Head of cabinet European Commission, team Frans Timmermans
Samsom is a Dutch environmentalist and retired politician who served the Labour Party from 2012 to 2016. Before switching into politics in 2003 he was a campaign manager at Greenpeace and director of a 'green' energy company.
Since November 2019 Samsom is head of cabinet for First Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans.
