Gain new insights and information!
On the exhibition floor of RailTech Europe '24, you are free to attend workshops.
Below you will find preliminary topics for the workshops. Details to follow shortly.

Cyber risks, security architectures and attack vectors
Cyber risks are with us and need to be managed. ERTMS brings additional cyber risks. Industry participants are faced with a paralysing cloud of information including standards, laws and stories of evil villains. The question “What should I do?” often remains unanswered.

Data science and sensoring (ERTMS)
The main advantage of ERTMS is cross-border interoperability between EU countries. However, not every country has made the same progress in the rollout. In this session, an overview is presented of the deployment of ERTMS in Europe, the results so far and the challenges that still lie ahead.

Digital transformation for Rail
Railways carry the weight of 19th century infrastructure while needing to meet the digital standards of today and tomorrow. Passenger and freight trains are still essential for our society, and now the advancement of the industry is as well. With the optimization of rail in focus, and rail traffic expected to double by 2050, the time is now to implement digital transformation to ensure safety and dependability.

Expanding wayside monitoring services using existing technology
The ongoing optimization of railway operations is an ever-growing and increasingly complex field. To maximize the service life of assets while controlling the risks in the best possible way, a deep understanding of the interrelationships of the individual components is essential.

Women in Rail
Because there is currently more attention for the male aspects of the rail sector, such as technology and hard sales, we want to emphasize the female side of rail in this session, such as helping the traveler, connecting, cordiality, being attentive, cooperating/communicating, etc.

CEO Talks
At RailTech Europe there will be different interviews with CEO’s from the industry.

Sustainability
Rail is already one of the most sustainable transport modes, but that doesn't mean there is nothing to improve. How can rail become more sustainable, looking at energy consumption for example, and how can cooperation help the rail sector forward sustainably?

Hyperloop
With hyperloop, we can travel across Europe within hours, without any emissions. We can ship goods right into the heart of cities without congesting our roads. As hyperloop technology is coming to market, so is the future of a hyperconnected Europe where cities across the Union are connected within hours. But ... how do we get there?

ATO
Interoperable specifications for automated railroad operations have been under development for several years. What is the current status and what are the challenges and obstacles?

Digital Twin
Vehicle manufacturers, operators and infra managers all have their piece of the puzzle when it comes to building digital twins of rail infrastructure or vehicle systems. They also all have their own benefits of using these digital twins.

Long-distance, cross continents
European passengers and politicians are screaming for more attractive international passenger services. Despite the market potential being there, the cross border offer is developing relatively slowly. This has to do with the specific challenges existing and new rail operators have to deal with. How can we improve the cross border offer?
