PhD researcher at the Department of Transport and Planning at Delft University of Technology
Joelle Aoun is a PhD researcher at the Department of Transport and Planning at Delft University of Technology. Her research focuses on designing and assessing train-centric signalling technologies. She worked on the European Shift2Rail project MOVINGRAIL that assessed the market potentials of Virtual Coupling. Over the past years, Joelle got involved in different civil engineering fields related to structure and transportation. She contributed to the feasibility of public transport projects and worked on “Driving Dynamics in Relation to Road Safety” in Greece. In 2018, Joelle obtained her master degree in civil engineering from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) in Lebanon. She was also the President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at USEK, and received a distinction for reaching the top 5% of all student organizations.
