Programme manager of the European DAC (Digital Automatic Coupling) Delivery Programme
Mark Topal-Gökceli, a civil engineer, started his career at ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) in 2005 being responsible for the planning of rail infrastructure projects - amongst others the Vienna Central Station. Mark became head of the rail system technology department at ÖBB-Holding AG in 2015. As the company’s CTO he is now responsible for the strategic development of the ÖBB group with regard to safety, technology, operations and sustainability. His latest activities include the setting up of a new safety culture program in the ÖBB group, developing a new ÖBB technology strategy including a strategic focus on DAC (Digital Automatic Coupler) and shaping the company’s climate protection initiatives. In addition, Mark is member of the Supervisory Boards of the ÖBB-Technical Services Gmbh and the ÖBB-Production GmbH. In Autumn 2020 he was nominated Programme Manager of the DAC (Digital Automatic Coupling) European Delivery Programme.
